Recently, Mission Guatemala staff traveled to Alotenango, a town located just 7 miles from some of the areas most impacted by the recent eruption of Volcán de Fuego.
In addition to meeting with disaster response professionals, we also spent time with people who had escaped the eruption.
The stories we heard from these survivors broke our hearts.
There is so much need in the wake of the eruption, and ever since the news broke on June 3rd, we have been working to secure partnerships with organizations that are known and trusted in the communities, and that are working responsibly to help these families rebuild their lives.
The doctors working in the area said that the number of patients with respiratory issues has been steadily increasing, and medicines that are needed to provide treatment are in limited supply.
You can help provide these critical medicines today.
